Badgers lose again as they fall to Iowa 59-57

Madison, WI ~ The Wisconsin Badgers lost to the Iowa Hawkeyes 59-57 Thursday night at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin, making it their 5 loss out of their last 6 games.Wisconsin led for the first 14 minutes and for most of the last 10 before Jordan Bohannon hit a three with 9 seconds left to give Iowa the lead.

Wisconsin fell to 22-8 and 11-6 in Big Ten Play after yet another loss in this horrendous stretch. The Badgers shot 26 percent from beyond the arc. Their defense returned to normal forcing 19 turnovers but they also allowed 14 of their own.

Bronson Koenig led Wisconsin with 19 points. Ethan Happ, Zak Showalter, and Nigel Hayes each scored in double-digits.  Wisconsin’s bench only scored 4 points compared to Iowa’s 24.

The Badgers free-throw slump continued as they went 5-14 from the line. Ethan Happ shot 1-7, Nigel Hayes shot 5-14, and Zak Showalter went 1-2.

The Wisconsin Badgers need o break out of this slump before the tournaments start because if they don’t, the Badgers might be going home early.
