Wisconsin’s season ends with heartbreaking loss to Florida

New York City, N.Y. ~ The Wisconsin Badgers season came to an end and in a painful way against Florida on a buzzer beater made by Chris Chiozza at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.
After Nigel Hayes sank both free throws Chiozza ran down the court and made the exact same shot made by Zak Showlater, who tied it up and sent it to overtime for the Badgers.
Florida will play South Carolina for a chance at the Final Four.
Nigel Hayes, Bronson Koenig, Vitto Brown, and Zak Showalter all played their final game in a Wisconsin uniform. Hayes scored 22 points with 6 rebounds, Koenig scored 13 points, Brown scored 10 points to go along with 6 rebounds, and Showalter scored 14 points with 7 rebounds. Ethan Happ scored 21 oints with six rebounds.
KeVaughn Allen went crazy and scored 35 points for Florida. Allen was the only Gator to score double-digits.
The beginning of the game started well for Wisconsin but they gave up an 11 points lead and at the half Florida led 34-32. The badger had a hot start as Hayes and Brown combined for 19 points early, but had their lead squandered when they fouled on two 3-pointers late in the half.
Fast forward, the Gators are up by 12, 68-56, with 5 minutes left. Despite the foul trouble the Badgers were in they managed to get within 3 points. Then, with 2 seconds left Showalter made a game tying three-pointer.
In overtime Wisconsin built up a five point lead but with 24 seconds left Chiozza tied it up with a layup.
Then Hayes was fouled with 4 seconds left and made both shots. But then Chris Chiozza took over and with his heroics sent the Florida Gators to the Elite 8.
