Packers clinch playoff spot, beats Raiders 30-20.

The Green Bay Packers beat the Oakland Raiders 30-20 in a game that should’ve been won by far more points.

The Green n’ Gold got off to a quick start on defense with two early picks. In the Raider’s first possession, QB Derek Carr overthrew Michael Rivera and the pigskin landed in nickel back Micah Hyde’s hand’s and returned down two the 3-yard-line. John Kuhn scored to give the Packers a 7-0 lead.  Then, the next pass thrown by Carr was picked by Damarious Randall and returned to the end-zone. At the end of the first quarter, Green Bay still secured the score 14-0.

That soon changed in the second quarter. The Packers couldn’t get its offense going resulting in two quick three-and-outs. Oakland brought the ball into the redzone twice but the Green Bay defense stopped the Raiders from getting a touchdown twice. The score was now 14-6. The Packers started a promising drive but it ended at the 50-yard-line when half-back James Starks was stripped by Oakland safety and former Packer, Charles Woodson. Derek Carr found Amari Cooper for a 19-yard score and the Pack suddenly only ahead by a point.

Green Bay scored a field goal on their first drive in the second half, but Oakland started a nice drive resulting in another touchdown via Carr to Cooper, and the Raiders lead 20-17.  The Packers quickly answered when Aaron Rodgers found James Jones on a 30-yard touchdown. In the fourth quarter Green Bay got two-field goals and won  30-20.

Raiders running back Latavious Murray gained 78 yards on 21 carries. and Derek Carr threw for 276 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.  Rodgers threw for 204 yards,1 touchdown, and 1 interception. James Starks rushed for 51 yards.
