Oregon kicks out Defending champs Duke

Anaheim ~  The Oregon Ducks beat the defending college basketball champions, the Duke Blue Devils to advance to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2007.  The Ducks took a double-digit lead in the early second half and never looked back, resulting in an 82-68 victory.

Oregon small forward Dillon Brooks led the Ducks with 22 points while former Milwaukee Hamilton star Elgin Cook added 16 points and  nine rebounds for the No.1 seeded Ducks.

Led by Brooks, the Pac-12 champions rallied back and beat the Blue Devils for the first time in school history.

After winning the first NCAA Tournament over Ohio State, the Fighting Ducks have never been back to the Final Four. They look to take care of business against Oklahoma at 5:10 on Saturday evening.

Oregon will be playing in its first Elite Eight game since 2007 and third since 2002 when the lost to the Kansas Jayhawks.

Brooks splashed 3 three-pointers for Oregon, who won their 31st game of the season last night, their most in school history.

Brandon Ingram led Duke with 24 points while, Graysen Allen scored 15 points, 12 in the second half.

The Ducks lead started with back-to-back threes by Casey Benson And Chris Boucher, and then two slam dunks in a row by Elgin Cook.

Oregon, known mainly as a football school surprised many people after being named a No.1 seed, but are surely living up to it.
