Brewers spoil St. Louis’s opener, but Cards get back, win the series

Image Source In Game 1,  the Brewers won 5-4 and Matt Garza got the win, giving up two runs in 5.4 innings.  He struck out four batters.    Adam Wainwright got the loss, allowing eight hits and five runs in 7.0 innings.  He moved to 1-1.    Carlos Gomez went 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Matt Carpenter, Matt Holiday, Jason Heyward, and Matt Adams combined for nine hits for the Cardinals.  Francisco Rodriguez got his first save of the season.  K-Rod made a great catch in

Pirates take series, but Crew earns first win

Image Source   The Pittsburgh Pirates won their first series of their young campaign, but the Milwaukee Brewers won their first game of the season.   Neil Walker tormented the Brewers in the first game of the series, going 3 for 5 with a double.  Starling Marte and Pedro Alverez each hit homers for the Pirates as Pittsburgh cruised to a 6-2 victory. Brewers swept in Opening Series, outscored 19-6

The Colorado Rockies sure showed the Milwaukee Brewers that this might not be the season for them.   On Opening Day the Rockies demolished the Brew Crew, 10-0 and Colorado third-baseman Nolan Arenado was only a triple shy of the cycle. Gomez, outfield ready for another year

The Milwaukee Brewers outfield is entering another season. In centerfield, Carlos Gomez will play, entering his third season as a power-hitter.  Gomez needs to improve on his balance on his swing and not try to hit the ball three miles away on every pitch.  Gomez hit .280 and slug past .450 two years in a row, making him the fifth center-fielder in the MLB to do that.  He hit 23 homeruns last season, while batting .284 with 73 RBI’s.   Right-fielder Ryan Braun hopes

Keeping Ramirez healthy is the key for a good season.

The Milwaukee Brewers all-star third baseman Aramis Ramirez will have to have another great season for the Brew Crew to succeed in 2015.  Ramirez stated in January that this will likely be his final season in the MLB.  He had a terrific season last year, starting third-base at the all-star game.  He finished hitting 2.85 with 66 RBI’s and 15 homeruns.
